Daily Devotion: Final Steps After Salvation by J.E. Smith

Bible Reading: Hebrews 10:18-25 KJV

Key Verse:  "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
Hebrews 10:25 KJV

Salvation is more than saying a simple, one-time, sinner's prayer. A person truly saved will surrender his or her life to the Lordship of Jesus. Many do not do this and that is why only a few are truly saved. We must submit our lives to the Holy Spirit to create within us a clean heart; one only worthy of our new King, Jesus.

True salvation will provide real change in our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." As the Holy Spirit works in our life, our desires, attitude and actions will change.

As an ambassador, representing the most high kingdom of God, we will no longer feel comfortable using off-color language, tolerating sexual innuendos and generally living the life we did before.

You need to find a sound, Bible-believing, New Testament church as commanded in Hebrews 10:25. Please feel free to use this link to search for a church in your area.
