Daily Devotion: A Hope Of Resurrection by J. R. Miller

Bible Reading: Acts 24:14-21 KJV

Key Verse:  "And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust."
- Acts 24:15 KJV

A hope of resurrection to a believer in Christ—ought to be a wonderful inspiration in the earthly life. The grave is not the end; we shall come again from it in new beauty, and shall live on forever. Not only did Christ teach that the dead shall rise again—but he himself went down into the grave and then came out again, after three days, alive! Thus he showed the reality of resurrection; one man died and rose again, and may not all? But his resurrection meant more than that. He was the head of his people, and as such—his victory was for them. He met and conquered death for them.

Daily Devotion: A Loving Purpose by John MacDuff

Bible Reading: Psalm 35:21-28 KJV

Key Verse:  "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."
- Psalm 35:27 KJV

What is "prosperity?" Is it threads of life weaved into a bright outcome? a full cup? ample riches? worldly applause? an unbroken circle? No! these are often a snare; received without gratitude; dimming the soul to its nobler destinies. Often spiritually, it rather means God taking us by the hand into the lowly Valleys of Humiliation; leading us as He did His servant Job of old; out of his sheep, oxen, camels, health, wealth, children; in order that we may be brought before Him in the dust, and say, "Blessed be His holy name!"

Daily Devotion: The Soul's Growth by James Meikle

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 13:11 KJV

Key Verse:  "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
- 1 Corinthians 13:11 KJV

When I look back a few years, I recollect, that my thoughts about common things were much contracted to what they are now. "When I was a child, I thought as a child;" for though I heard surrounding sounds, and the speeches of all about me, yet they were too vast for me to comprehend; nor could I convey my ideas to them in articulate words. Yes, when I rose a little from this infantile state, I could not shake myself free of my ignorance, nor from any proper notion of the embelting oceans, opposite poles, and the earth hung upon nothing. Still I knew nothing of the heavenly bodies, of the glorious sun, splendid moon, or sparkling stars; of the beauteous rainbow, falling showers, and flashing thunders. These things, then too sublime for me to think on, are now, in some sense, both intelligible and familiar; and this arises, not from any addition of new powers—but from an increase of the faculties of my soul.

Daily Devotion: Dying Daily and Our Life in Christ by Wil Pounds

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:31 KJV

Key Verse:  "I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily." - 1 Corinthians 15:31 KJV

Spiritual growth is making real in our daily experience what is already true for us in Christ. Our progressive sanctification is an ever putting off all that belongs to the old man, and putting on all that belongs to the new man in Christ.

Daily Devotion: Sleep In Christ by Octavius Winslow

Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:11-18 KJV

Key Verse:  "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."
- 1 Thessalonians 4:14 KJV

Will it add nothing to the glory of that event, and to the happiness of that moment, when the Son of God descends, and, dissolving the soft slumbers of the holy dead, will reanimate each with its former occupant, that then we shall perfectly recognize those we once knew and loved, and renew the sweet communion, before imperfect and limited, but now complete and eternal? Dry, then, your tears, and cease to mourn, you saints of God. They are "not lost, but gone before." Their spirits live with Jesus. And when He comes, He will bring them with Him, and you shall see and know them with a cloudless sight and a perfect knowledge. The very eyes which once smiled upon you so kindly- the very tongue which spoke to you so comfortingly- the very hands which administered to you so skillfully- the very feet which traveled by your side so faithfully- the very bosom which pillowed you so tenderly- you shall meet again. "The coming of the Lord draws near," and those who "sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him." Let us "comfort one another with these words."

Daily Devotion: Take Up The Cross And Follow Me by Charles Spurgeon

Bible Reading: Mark 10:19-26 KJV

Key Verse:  "Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me."
- Mark 10:21 KJV

You have not the liberty of making of your own cross; although unbelief is a master carpenter at cross-making. Neither are you permitted to choose your own cross; although self-will would gladly be lord and master. Your cross is prepared and appointed for you by divine love—and you are cheerfully to accept it. You are to take up the cross as your chosen portion, and not to stand caviling at it.

Daily Devotion: The Many Names of God the Father (2 of 2) by J.E. Smith

Bible Reading: Psalm 8:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens."
- Psalm 8:1 KJV

In the Bible names are far more than labels. They often reveal character, purpose, authority, covenant, and destiny. God uses names to teach spiritual truths and to show His intimate involvement in human lives. The same is true about God's names.

Daily Devotion: The Secret Place by J.C. Philpot

Bible Reading: Psalm 91:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
- Psalm 91:1 KJV

What is "the secret place of the most High?" It is the same spot, of which Asaph speaks in the seventy-third Psalm--"Until I went into the sanctuary of God, then understood I their end." It is the spot, of which the Lord speaks in Ezekiel--"I will be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come." Then this "secret place" is the secret bosom of God. It is an entrance by faith into Jehovah, by a spiritual manifestation of him, leading us into a spiritual acquaintance with him. "The secret place of the most High" is that solemn spot, where Jehovah meets with the sinner in Christ, and where he opens up to him the riches of his mercy, and leads him into his bosom, so as to read the secrets of his loving heart.

Daily Devotion: Communicate The Word by Favell Lee Mortimer

Bible Reading: Mark 4:21-29 KJV

Key Verse:  "If any man have ears to hear, let him hear."
- Mark 4:23 KJV

This is part of a private conversation between our Lord and his apostles. If our minds were in a right state, how much more deeply should we be interested in such scenes than in the worldly trifles that surround us.

Daily Devotion: Always Keep Your Appointments With Jesus by J. R. Miller

Bible Reading: Matthew 28:13-20 KJV

Key Verse:  "Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them."
Matthew 28:16 KJV

We should always keep the appointments Jesus makes with us. If we fail—we shall surely be the losers. Suppose some of our Lord's disciples had stayed away, for some cause, from this meeting in Galilee. Think what they would have missed! They might have said: "It is such a long distance;" or, "The mountain is steep, and I will have difficulty climbing it;" or, "I fear it will rain or be stormy;" or, "Perhaps Jesus will not be there; I cannot understand how he can be risen from the dead."

Daily Devotion: Sovreignty by John MacDuff

Bible Reading: Psalm 93:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved."
Psalm 93:1 KJV

No rainbow of promise in the "dark and cloudy day" shines more radiantly than this. God, my God, the God who gave Jesus — orders all events, and overrules all for my good! "When I," says He, "send clouds over the earth." He has no wish to conceal the hand which shadows for a time earth's brightest prospects. It is He alike who "brings the cloud," who brings us into it, and in mercy leads us through it! His kingdom rules over all. "The lot is cast into the lap — but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord." He puts the burden on, and keeps it on — and at His own time will remove it!

Daily Devotion: Torment by James Meikle

Bible Reading: Luke 16:28 KJV

Key Verse:  "For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment." - Luke 16:28 KJV

People generally have a mistaken notion of torment. I shudder to hear of protracted agonies on the dying malefactor—to hear of the rack, (invented by boundless rage, and improved by infernal cruelty,) decreed by the powerful offended party, to torture to death my fellow-creature. Yes, the groans of dying mortals pierce my ears, and make me sharer of their pains. But what are all human inventions—when we look beyond them, to eternal punishment? what is the glittering sword, or sharpened axe? What the musket, with its deadly explosion? What the gibbet, with ten thousand spectators? What the bastinado clubs, the stamping elephant, the quartering horses? What the piked barrels, the breaking wheel, the boots and thumbkins, the suffocating dungeon, or the calcinating flame? How do they all disappear before these words—DIVINE VENGEANCE—ETERNAL WRATH!

Daily Devotion: Dressed For The New Life by Wil Pounds

Bible Reading: Colossians 3:9-16 KJV

Key Verse:  "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;"
- Colossians 3:9-12 KJV

Are you dressed in grave clothes or wedding garments? Now that we have been saved by grace how then shall we live? How are we to walk in this new life? The apostle Paul uses an illustration in terms of taking off one set of clothes and putting on another in Colossians 3:9-10. “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Daily Devotion: The Many Names of God the Father (1 of 2) by J.E. Smith

Bible Reading: Psalm 9:7-14

Key Verse:  "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." - Psalm 9:10 KJV

In the King James Version (KJV), the translators used different capitalization styles very deliberately to signal different underlying Hebrew or Greek words. Here is a concise breakdown:

Daily Devotion: Communion With Other In Glory by Octavius Winslow

Bible Reading: Hebrews 12:22-29 KJV

Key Verse:  "To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect," - Hebrews 12:23 KJV

That the saints will recognize and have communion with each other immediately on their entrance into glory is, we think, clear from these words of the apostle, when enumerating the privileges of the released believers. We indulge, therefore, the fond hope that, should death remove us before the coming of the Lord, we shall meet, know, and have delightful communion with our friends who departed this life in Jesus.

Daily Devotion: I Will Never Leave You by Charles Spurgeon

Bible Reading: Hebrews 13:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
Hebrews 13:5 KJV

No promise is of private interpretation. Whatever God has said to any one saint—He has said to all. When He opens a well for one, it is that all may drink. When He opens a granary-door to give out food, there may be some one starving man who is the occasion of its being opened—but all hungry saints may come and feed too. Whether He gave the Word to Abraham or to Moses, matters not, O believer; He has given it to you as one of the covenanted seed. There is not a high blessing too lofty for you, nor a wide mercy too extensive for you. Lift up now your eyes to the north and to the south, to the east and to the west—for all this is yours! Climb to Pisgah's top, and view the utmost limit of the divine promise—for the land is all your own! There is not a brook of living water—of which you may not drink. If the land flows with milk and honey, eat the honey and drink the milk, for both are yours. Be bold to believe, for He has said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."

Daily Devotion: Hold Fast by J.C. Philpot

Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV

Key Verse:  "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
- 1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV

There are two things especially which every saint of God is called upon to hold fast--these are, first, the beginning of God's work upon his soul; and, secondly, his deliverance. Any manifestation that you have had of the Lord Jesus Christ; any application of his atoning blood; any discovery of his glorious Person or shedding abroad of his love--hold that fast, for it is good. And so I may say, hold fast any promise you have ever had applied; any answer to prayer you have ever received; any felt blessing that may have been wrought in your heart by a divine power. All this is good. It comes from a good God; it works in a good way; it leads to a good end; it will make a good death bed, and will land you in a most blessed eternity.

Daily Devotion: The Parable Of The Wheat And Tares by Favell Lee Mortimer

Bible Reading: Matthew 13:24-30 KJV

Key Verse:  "Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:"
- Matthew 13:24 KJV

The parable of the wheat and tares in some respects resembles that of the Sower of the seed, but it differs from it in this respect. In the parable of the Sower we heard only of good seed; here we read also of bad seed. While Christ, by his faithful ministers, sows good seed, or the pure gospel, the devil by his servants sows bad seed, or false doctrines.

Daily Devotion: Who Will Roll Away The Stone by J. R. Miller

Bible Reading: Mark 16:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?"
- Mark 16:3 KJV

This stone had worried the women, as they hurried toward the grave. They knew it was there, that it was too heavy for them with their frail hands to roll away, and they wondered how they could get it removed. But now, when they came in sight of the tomb—they looked up and saw that the stone was rolled away!

Daily Devotion: The Closing Benediction by John MacDuff

Bible Reading: Luke 12:37-44 KJV

Key Verse:  "Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them."
- Luke 12:37 KJV

Child of God! is this your attitude, as the expectant of your Lord's appearing? Are your loins girded, and your lights burning? If the cry were to break upon your ears this day, "Behold the Bridegroom comes!" could you joyfully respond, "Yes, this is my God, I have waited for Him!"

Daily Devotion: The Many Names of Christ by J.E. Smith

Bible Reading: Isaiah 9:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
- Isaiah 9:6 KJV

Names in Scripture are never accidental. They reveal character, authority, and purpose. No one in all of history carries more meaningful names than Jesus Christ. Each name unveils a different aspect of who He is and how He meets us in every season of life. The many names of Christ are not poetic titles alone, they are promises.

Daily Devotion: Nothing Can Purchase Christ From The Soul by James Meikle

Bible Reading: Haggai 2:6-13 KJV

Key Verse:  "The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts." - Haggai 2:8 KJV

"What is your Beloved more than another beloved?" was once asked of the spouse by those who knew him not so well as she did. Now, worldlings! let me hear what you will lay in the balance with my Beloved, that, in refusing your largest offers, it may appear how much I esteem my dearest Lord, and best beloved. Will you, then, give me gold and silver until I can desire, until I can stow no more? Ah! your heaps of shining dust will not, cannot purchase him from me! Will you give me titles, honor, and glory for him?

Daily Devotion: Do You Sense God's Presence? by Wil Pounds

Bible Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21 KJV

Key Verse:  "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,"
- Ephesians 3:17 KJV

A good friend asked me, “Do you feel you are adequately experiencing the presence and power of the Holy Spirit?” That is a probing question every Christian should pause and consider. I firmly believe that every born again believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, but not every believer is yielded to His control. Our experience of His divine presence depends upon our yielding to Him moment by moment. If the Holy Spirit is to have a larger part of our lives we must make a deliberate choice and allow Him to take control.

Daily Devotion: The Great Glory Of God by Octavius Winslow

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 KJV

Key Verse:  "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV

The great glory of our Immanuel is his essential glory. When our faith can firmly grasp the Deity of our adorable Lord- and on this precious doctrine may it never waver!- there is a corresponding confidence and repose of the mind in each particular of His sacrificial work. Then it is that we talk of Him as a Mediator, and love to view Him as the great Sin-bearer of His people.

Daily Devotion: Made Strong By The Hands Of God by Charles Spurgeon

Bible Reading: Genesis 49:18-25 KJV

Key Verse:  "But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)" - Genesis 49:24 KJV

That strength which God gives to His Josephs is real strength; it is not a boasted valor, a fiction, a thing of which men talk—but which ends in smoke; it is true—divine strength. Why does Joseph stand against temptation? Because God gives him aid. There is nothing that we can do—without the power of God. All true strength comes from "the mighty God of Jacob."

Daily Devotion: Rejoice In The Lord by J.C. Philpot

Bible Reading: Habakkuk 3:12-19 KJV

Key Verse:  "Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation."
- Habakkuk 3:18 KJV

If ever, as we pass through this wilderness, we feel one drop of solid joy, of true happiness, it must flow, it can flow only from one source--the manifestation of Christ to our souls. This joy may be very transient--we may have to look upon it through a vista of many years; and doubts and fears may becloud the mind whether we ever rejoiced truly in Christ, or whether our joy might not have been "the joy of the hypocrite" that perishes. And yet we are brought to this point--we can find true joy and peace in Him alone.

Daily Devotion: Latter Part of the Parable Of The Sower by Favell Lee Mortimer

Bible Reading: Matthew 13:18-30 KJV

Key Verse:  "Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower."
- Matthew 13:18 KJV

Let us now consider the two latter kind of hearers which our Savior has described. One is the thorny ground hearer—the soil of his heart is not so dry and barren as that of the stony ground hearer. The word sinks into it, and springs up, and blossoms, and buds, and produces fruit; but, alas! not good fruit. What is the reason of this failure? Thorns have grown up with the good seed, and have injured the heavenly plants. The thorns may have appeared very small and insignificant when first the seed was sown, but they increased in strength, and at length destroyed the hopes of the husbandman.

Daily Devotion: The Wrath of God by J.E. Smith

Bible Reading: Romans 1:16-23 KJV

Key Verse:  "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;"
- Romans 1:18 KJV

When we hear the phrase “the wrath of God,” it can stir discomfort or fear. Yet Scripture presents God’s wrath not as uncontrolled anger, but as a holy, righteous response to sin. God’s wrath flows from His perfect justice, just as surely as His mercy flows from His love.

Daily Devotion: He Vanished Out Of Their Sight by J. R. Miller

Bible Reading: Luke 24:30-37 KJV

Key Verse:  "And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight."
- Luke 24:31 KJV

Anniversary days always bring back the memories of those who have died. Out of what home, has not some beloved face vanished? You are thinking of these departed ones. If they died in Christ—the gospel of these Easter days lifts the veil, and shows them to you away beyond death, unhurt by death, living still, the same gentle friends they were when you knew them here and clasped them in your arms.

Daily Devotion: I Will Come Again by John MacDuff

Bible Reading: John 14:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:3 KJV

Another "word of promise" concerning the Church's "blessed hope." Orphaned pilgrims, dry your tears! Soon the Morning Hour will strike, and the sighs of a groaning and burdened creation will be heard no more! Earth's six thousand years of toil and sorrow are waning; the eternal Sabbath is at hand! Jesus will soon be heard to repeat concerning all His sleeping saints, what He said of old regarding one of them: "I go to awake him out of sleep!"

Daily Devotion: Still Ignorant Of God Below by James Meikle

Bible Reading: Proverbs 30:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?"
- Proverbs 30:4 KJV

It was a question proposed long ago, by a great teacher, in his divine lectures of God, "What is his name, and what is his Son's name, if you can tell?" And it remains unanswered unto this day: "No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal Him." Now, this revelation on account of our ignorance, cannot be bright; for if, when the great Teacher told us of earthly things, we could not understand them, how much less if he should tell us of heavenly things, and least of all if he should reveal to us the mysteries of his eternal Godhead!

Daily Devotion: Do You Seek a Deeper Life with God? by Wil Pounds

Key Verse:  "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;"
- Philippians 3:10 KJV

The late missionary to South Africa Andrew Murray was a holy man. At one point in his life he was going through a painful experience. Murray was quiet for some time before the Lord and then he wrote these words for himself: "First, He brought me here, it is by His will I am in this strait place: in that fact I will rest. Next, He will keep me here in His love, and give me grace to behave as His child. Then, He will make the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He intends me to learn, and working in me the grace He means to bestow. Last, in His good time He can bring me out again—how and when He knows."

Daily Devotion: Let This Mind Be In You by Octavius Winslow

Bible Reading: Philippians 2:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"
- Philippians 2:5 KJV

What is it to have "the mind that was in Christ"? We answer, it is to be ever aiming after the highest perfection of holiness. It is to have the eye of faith perpetually on Jesus as our model, studying Him closely as our great example, seeking conformity to Him in all things. It is to be regulated in all our conduct by His humble spirit.

Daily Devotion: Do You Understand by Charles Spurgeon

Bible Reading: Acts 8:30-37 KJV

Key Verse:  "And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?"
- Acts 8:30 KJV

We would be abler teachers of others, and less liable to be carried about by every wind of doctrine—if we sought to have a more intelligent understanding of the Word of God. As the Holy Spirit, the Author of the Scriptures is He who alone can enlighten us rightly to understand them, we should constantly ask His teaching, and His guidance into all truth.

Daily Devotion: Grace for the Hard Times by J.E. Smith

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

Key Verse:  "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
- 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

Hard times are not foreign to the people of God. Scripture never promises a life free from trials, but it consistently promises the presence and grace of God within them. When the road grows steep and the burden heavy, it is not our strength that carries us through, it is His grace.

Daily Devotion: Heal me, O Lord by J.C. Philpot

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 17:13-20 KJV

Key Verse:  "Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise."
- Jeremiah 17:14 KJV

If we feel that we have ruined our own souls, that no human arm can save us, that we cannot bring salvation into our own consciences, nor of ourselves see any beauty, glory, sweetness, or suitability in the Lord Jesus Christ, and yet are striving with prayer and supplication to touch the hem of his garment, to taste the sweetness of his dying love, to feel the efficacy of his atoning blood, to be wrapped up in his glorious robe of righteousness, and to know him in the sweet manifestations of his grace, we too can say, "Save me, and I shall be saved."

Daily Devotion: First Part Of The Parable of the Sower by Favell Lee Mortimer

Bible Reading: Matthew 13:18-30 KJV

Key Verse:  "Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower."
- Matthew 13:18 KJV

There is one circumstance which renders this parable peculiarly interesting. It describes the characters of all people who hear the gospel; therefore it must describe ours. Let us endeavor to discover by the help of God to which class we belong.

Daily Devotion: The Joyful News by J. R. Miller

Bible Reading: Mark 16:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you." - Mark 16:7 KJV

The joyful news must not be kept—but must be carried to the other sorrowing friends of Jesus, and must be carried 'quickly'. There must not be a moment lost. The happy women must not sit down together in mere personal enjoyment of the blessed news; there were others in the darkness of sorrow—and to these they must hasten with the gladness. We must not forget in our joy of Christian faith, that there are others who have none of this joy; our mission is to carry the good news, and to rejoice as we go on our way.

Daily Devotion: The Many Mansions by John MacDuff

Bible Reading: John 14:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
- John 14:2 KJV

What a 'home aspect' there is in this "word of Jesus!" He comforts His Church by telling those, whose wilderness wanderings will soon be finished — that the tented tabernacle suited to their present probation-state will be exchanged for an enduring "mansion!" Nor will it be a strange dwelling — but a Father's home! A Father's welcome awaits them! There will be accommodation for all God's redeemed people. Thousands have already entered — patriarchs, prophets, saints, martyrs, young and old — and still there is room!

Daily Devotion: The World Asleep by James Meikle

Key Verse:  "Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished."
- 1 Corinthians 15:18 KJV

The whole world is, with respect to the future eternal state, as it were, fast asleep. In this night of universal darkness and ignorance, the greater part are dreaming in their sleep, and believing themselves to be wide awake, are verily persuaded that their delusions are real, because their dreams are regular. Yes, like night-walkers, they perform the actions of a busy world in their sleep; and, confident that they are in the full use and exercise of their reason, they wage war, they buy and sell, they marry and are given in marriage, and weary and fatigue themselves in this continual dream. Now, who can persuade us in a dream, that we ourselves are dreaming? This is the true but melancholy condition of the most part of mankind—They dream, while they think themselves to be awake, and slumber over the day of life, while they seem to exert the greatest activity to obtain solid and substantial good.

Daily Devotion: Do You See What I See? by Wil Pounds

Key Verse:  "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." - 2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV

"Christ in you the hope of glory," wrote the apostle Paul. It is one of the greatest blessings of the Christian life that we share the image of Jesus Christ and go "from glory to glory."

Daily Devotion: Jesus, The Great I AM by J.E. Smith

Bible Reading: Revelation 1:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
- Revelation 1:8 KJV

When John beheld the glorified Christ on the Isle of Patmos, he saw not merely the Jesus who once walked the dusty roads of Galilee, but the eternal, sovereign Lord who reigns before all beginnings and beyond all endings. The voice that spoke from heaven declared, “I am Alpha and Omega.” These are not just titles of time, but revelations of timeless glory. Jesus is the great “I AM,” the self-existent One who depends on none and sustains all.

Daily Devotion: Your Will Be Done by Octavius Winslow

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:10 KJV

Key Verse:  "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."
- Matthew 6:10 KJV

The holy Leighton has remarked, that to say from the heart, "your will be done," constitutes the very essence of sanctification. There is much truth in this; more, perhaps, than strikes the mind at the first view. Before conversion, the will, the governing principle of the soul, is the seat of all opposition to God. It rises against God- His government, His law, His providence, His grace, His Son; yes, all that appertains to God, the unrenewed will of man is hostile to. Here lies the depth of man's unholiness. The will is against God; and so long as it refuses to obey Him, the creature must remain unholy.

Daily Devotion: He Has Said by Charles Spurgeon

Bible Reading: Hebrews 13:1-8 KJV

Key Verse:  "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
- Hebrews 13:5 KJV

If we can only grasp these words by faith, we have an all-conquering weapon in our hand. What doubt will not be slain by this two-edged sword? What fear is there which shall not fall smitten with a deadly wound before this arrow from the bow of God's covenant? Will not the distresses of life and the pangs of death; will not the corruptions within, and the snares without; will not the trials from above, and the temptations from beneath—all seem but light afflictions, when we can hide ourselves beneath the bulwark of "He has said"? Yes! whether for delight in our quietude, or for strength in our conflict, "He has said" must be our daily resort.

Daily Devotion: The World Hates You by J.C. Philpot

Bible Reading: John 15:17-24 KJV

Key Verse:  "If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you." - John 15:19 KJV

If you walk in the fear of God, and follow in the footsteps of a persecuted and despised Jesus, the world will hate and despise you as it hated and despised him, as he himself declares, "If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you." God himself has put enmity between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent (Gen. 3:15); and nothing will secure you from the manifestation of this enmity if you are on Christ's side. Neither rank, nor property, nor learning, nor education, nor amiability, nor the profusest deeds of liberality, nor the greatest uprightness of conduct, will stave off the scorn of men, if you are a sincere follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, and carry out in practice what you hold in principle.

Daily Devotion: Jesus Explains The Parable Of The Sower by Favell Lee Mortimer

Bible Reading: Matthew 13:10-17 KJV

Key Verse:  "And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?"
- Matthew 13:10 KJV

We have much reason to rejoice that our blessed Savior explained the parable of the Sower; for had he not done so, many different opinions respecting its meaning would have been held, but now the signification is fixed and certain. We will, however, defer the consideration of it until we read our Lord's explanation.

Daily Devotion: A Hope Of Resurrection by J. R. Miller

Bible Reading:  Acts 24:14-21 KJV   Key Verse:  " And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be...
