Bible Reading: Romans 10:10-17 KJV
- Romans 10:11 KJV
The Bible is very clear that we are not to be ashamed of Jesus. As noted in our key verse, Romans 10:11, "...Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
When you are with secular friends and co-workers and the name of Jesus comes up, does it make you uneasy and uncomfortable? What if they are somewhat mocking the name of Jesus? What if they ask you are you one of those "crazies" that go to church every Sunday? At this point you must decide on which side of the fence you are going to stand.
Are you too ashamed of Jesus and deny him, or do you stand firm with Jesus? There are ramifications for denying Jesus! Matthew 10:33 says, "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."
Are you embarrassed when the name of Jesus comes up? Do you ever bring up Jesus with unsaved friends and family? If you are ashamed of Jesus, then there was no salvation - you are not part of the saved few.
