Key Verse: "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;"
- Ephesians 6:15 KJV
As we continue with the armor of God, we come to the shoes of the gospel of peace. In Ephesians 6:15, this piece of armor represents readiness and stability. A soldier’s footwear was essential for standing firm and advancing with confidence. Spiritually, the gospel gives us that same stability. Because we have peace with God through Jesus Christ, we are no longer standing on uncertain ground, we are anchored.
Scripture declares:
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” — Romans 5:1
This peace is not dependent on circumstances; it is rooted in our relationship with God. It gives us confidence to stand firm when trials come.
The gospel also prepares us to move, to share the good news with others:
“How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” — Romans 10:15
We are not only called to stand in peace, but to carry it into the world. A believer grounded in the gospel is ready to respond with hope, truth, and love.
God’s peace also guards our hearts and minds:
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7
In the midst of spiritual warfare, peace is a powerful defense. It steadies us when fear rises and keeps us from being shaken by the enemy’s attacks.
Application
Consider your spiritual footing:
- Am I standing firmly in the peace I have with God?
- Am I ready to share the gospel with others?
- Do I allow God’s peace to guard my heart in difficult moments?
Today, walk in the peace God has given you. Look for an opportunity to share encouragement or truth with someone, reflecting the gospel in both word and action.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the peace I have through Jesus Christ. Help me to stand firmly in that peace and not be shaken by fear or uncertainty. Prepare me to share the gospel with others and to walk confidently in Your truth.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
